Heroes Project Interim Meeting Symposium

We are thrilled to share highlights from the recently concluded 10th Panhellenic Conference of the Hellenic Society of Biomedical Technology and the incredible Heroes Project Interim Meeting Symposium, coordinated by Dr. Alkinoos Athanasiou & Prof. Panagiotis Bamidis.
At the symposium, we had the privilege of hearing from inspiring speakers and experts in the field:
Tsalikakis G. Dimitrios, Director of the 4th Regional Health Authority of Macedonia-Thrace
Dr. Ioannis Magras, Professor and Director of the 2nd Department of Neurological Surgery of AUTH
Konstantinos Nizamis, Assist. Professor, Chair of Systems Engineering and Multidisciplinary Design, University of Twente
Our very own HEROES partners and AUTH iMedPhys BERD members including representatives from caregivers, doctors, and patients who shared their invaluable insights and experiences
The HEROES Project, funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation, and the NeuroSuitUp project are revolutionizing neurorehabilitation for stroke and spinal cord injury patients. By harnessing neuroplasticity through man-machine interfaces, we aim to enhance recovery and improve outcomes.
This symposium marked a milestone for the #HEROES Project, with the completion of development and validation and the imminent commencement of clinical trials. Exciting discussions between the research team and patient organizations have paved the way for tailored, patient-centric enhancements.
We are grateful for everyone’s participation and look forward to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by stroke and spinal cord injuries.
Stay tuned for more updates on our journey towards redefining rehabilitation!
